It’s time for our Ministry of Education to “wake up” and set our education system “straight “ just saying
Here is a “word of wisdom” from one of the greatest people
to ever live in our history…
“The only thing that
interferes with my learning is my education. Education is a process of wasting
half of our life to learn how to waste the remaining half of our life; a single
examination cannot determine a student’s ability in a particular subject. If a
student scores less, it means that he/she needs more guidance or needs to put
in more effort. Making students repeat an academic year because they have
flunked the final examination is a wrong practice. A student may not be able to
grasp concepts because of the teaching pedagogy and a one-on-one discussion can
help identify the weaknesses The Education system should be flexible to allow
students to drop a subject if they are not interested in it. Clearly, if a
student keeps failing in a particular subject, it implies he has no amplitude
or inclination for the same. A multi pronged strategy needs to be in place
where all students should receive personalized attention and case specific
guidance, flexible systems that are in sync with a student’s interest and
abilities can help tap a student’s potential to succeed better. Failing in a
subject or an examination is clearly not the end of life, everyone has
weaknesses and strengths. It is extremely important that our education system
recognizes this”

out-of-date cause if you take a look at the secondary syllabus, students
learn a lot of crap that will not
even help them in the future... like seriously how will South African history
help me yet I don’t even know my own family’s history!! Well these education officials
may be saying it’s for general knowledge but how the f*** is that general
knowledge!!! If you haven’t yet realized, our country is developing at an
alarming rate so in order to nail a good corporate job... Not only your IQ but
also your personality skills are considered... Now if most high school students
spend countless hours of cramming in order to ace that History paper tomorrow
morning, how will he work on his personality or discover his true
potential... In simple words our UGANDAN EDUCATION SYSTEM IS BUILDING A
GENERATION OF CRAMMERS NOT THINKERS OF OUTSIDE BUT ALSO INSIDE A BOX!!
